The Floozies

Born in funk and bred in the digital age, live electronic duo The Floozies have burst onto the scene at a time when the industry needed them the most.

Brothers Matt and Mark Hill share the stage just as easily as they share a musical brain. Without a setlist, and without a word between them, Matt’s guitar is in lockstep with the thud of Mark’s kick. Endless looping and production builds the raw scenery upon which palm muted chugs, searing solos, and wobbling bass paint their dazzling array of colors. A bold live show full of sonic exploration and unbreakably deep pocket grooves, neck-snapping, and knee-breaking funk so dirty that the gatekeepers stood up, wiped themselves off, and took notice. Sold out shows across the Country, huge festival appearances at Bonnaroo, Electric Forest, High Sierra, Summercamp, Wakarusa, Camp Bisco, Summerset, Bumbershoot, and headlining Red Rocks shows have continued to cement the duo’s ascent.

The Floozies are bringing the funk back, and they’re right on time.

Before changing the Electronic Music game in South Africa as GoldFish, Dominic Peters and David Poole were mild-mannered students by day-that blew the roof off house parties by night. Their trail-blazing live show, which mixed tireless house beats with multiple live instrumental performances earned the attention of a swelling house and electronic music fan base. As their fame grew, so did their scope, scouring obscure sources for unique and cheeky samples that they twisted into endlessly fun hooks and choruses. Stirring African rhythms and Sax melodies into the mix helped Goldfish evolve a truly unique house sound.Their burnished grooves are rooted in pure pop pleasure, hooking even the most cautious listener onto the dance floor (without next-day regret). After seven years basing themselves between Cape Town and Ibiza, Dom and Dave have settled in San Diego to concentrate on the burgeoning US Market. A consistent string of chart-topping hits—and a live show that has seen countless festival appearances fromCoachella to Glastonbury—has helped GoldFish become one of the most enduring and influential groups in live electronic music.

Badfish: A Tribute To Sublime

The phenomenon known as Sublime, arguably the most energetic, original and uniquely eclectic band to emerge from any scene, anywhere, ended with the untimely death of lead singer, guitarist and songwriter Brad Nowell in May of 1996. But encompassing the sense of place and purpose long associated with Sublime’s music, Badfish, a Tribute to Sublime continues to channel the spirit of Sublime with a fury not felt for some time. What separates Badfish from other tribute bands is that they have replicated Sublime’s essence, developing a scene and dedicated following most commonly reserved for label-driven, mainstream acts. Badfish make their mark on the audience by playing with the spirit of Sublime. They perform not as Sublime would have, or did, but as Badfish does.

Mosie is the savory musical collaboration between Boston-based singer/songwriter/producer Jesse LeVines and musician/producer Aidan Brody. Originally, Mosie began as LeVines’ solo project with the release of his debut mixtape Soft Serve in 2015. The mixtape was written, produced, and pan-fried entirely by LeVines out of Nashadelphia Studios in Nashville, TN. After moving back to Boston, the small town Massachusetts local teamed up with Brody to begin cooking their debut studio album, Tangerine (2018). Mosie’s sound is best described as a Bratwurst Bump: a rugged sound, with a bold hip-hop backbone, smeared with crisp, tangy vocals, and luscious synth and guitar lines filling in the cracks. They take influence from old soul crooners, 80s disco, and a wide range of hip-hop, scooping them all into the sexiest sundae you’ve ever heard.
